A Picture Speaks 1000 Words

What inspires your creative process? Is it an image, certain sounds, or something you do that invokes an idea? As creatives and producers, we are especially tuned into the visual and sensory experience and are influenced by our daily environment and surroundings.

Something as simple as a song or a color can evoke an emotion and spark the creative process. And if the feeling is strong enough, it may compel us to take action.

How Images Impact Us

The human brain processes visual content 60,000 times faster than text. We observe, learn, process, and decide with visual information.

Visuals are always more effective than just the written word. People tend to stop and look at compelling visuals. Our attention is more attracted to a picture than a group of words because they inject color and character into a body of text.

Images can transport us and help us remember the way things looked, smelled, and felt. They have the power to evoke strong emotions and a single image can make us laugh, cry, or feel inspired.

Natural Inspiration

Personally, I love nature.

The colors and textures of our natural environment create a sense of balance and awe. A walk outside helps to clear the mind and inspires us to imagine unique, creative solutions for design and online use.

Nature contains a myriad of colors, textures, and sounds that can spark an idea or transfer energy into your creative wheelhouse. Sometimes getting out of the studio and into the fresh air allows new perspectives and thoughts to emerge.

A bouquet of flowers

They were so beautiful in the afternoon sunlight. I wanted to get closer to explore them in more detail and try to capture their fleeting beauty. So I attached a macro lens to my camera and went in for a closer look...

Closeup details

Working with a macro lens is great for capturing gorgeous details and textures against a soft backdrop. It’s perfect for creating soft organic backgrounds for use with online content.

These abstract textures provide a soft focus and can be combined with images and text to create sophisticated custom graphics for promotional or instructional use.

Layouts can be positioned in various areas over the background image for maximum exposure and impact. The colors and contrast provide a beautiful backdrop to enhance content and attract attention to your message and brand.

See examples of this with our Digital Templates which use a mix of abstract and nature photography. These Canva® templates are editable and can be customized to fit your business, message and brand.

Online Impact

Social media is an effective way to bring awareness to your brand and spread your message to a larger virtual audience. Posting dynamic content has many benefits and is a great way to attract your ideal audience, inspire, and engage them.

Studies show that using imagery with your content and posts has longer views, better engagement & retention rates among visitors, and are shared more often.

Image vs Text

• Visual content is processed by the human brain 60,000 times faster than text-based content.

• 90% of ALL information that is transmitted to the human brain throughout the course of a day is visual.

• Social media strategist Jeff Bullas reports that Facebook posts with photos receive an average 37% increase in engagement.

Buzzsumo found that posts with images receive 2.3 times more engagement than those without.

LinkedIn posts with images have a 98% higher comment rate on average.

Tweets that include visual content are three times more likely to get engagement.

The longer visitors stay, the more likely they will engage. And the more they interact with your brand, they build trust, loyalty, and confidence in your business and take action.

Be Memorable

Create content that captures a feeling, offers solutions, and leaves a memorable impression. Use custom abstract images to create beautiful layered graphics that attract viewer's attention and engages their interest.
